SHORT BIO: Aaron Michael Ritchey is the author of forty-seven novels under various pen names. He’s been an Amazon All-Star, and the first book in The Juniper Wars series was a Dragon Award Finalist. His novel, Sages of the Underpass, won the Independent Audiobook Award for best fantasy in 2021. His latest series, The Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons, written with James A. Hunter, is an Amazon bestseller.

LONG BIO: Aaron Michael Ritchey read A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs in the third grade and wanted to be a writer. Now he’s the author of forty-five novels under various pen names.

In 2012, his first book, The Never Prayer, was published, and since then he’s written eight other well-received young adult novels, including the award-winning Long Live the Suicide King. The first three books of The Juniper Wars series have all been nominated for InD’Tale Magazine’s YA Speculative Fiction novel of the year. Armageddon Girls was a Dragon Award Finalist.

Aaron then branched out into fantasy and science fiction. His first project with Baen Books is The Cunning Man series, co-written with DJ Butler and available at your local Barnes & Noble. His novel, Sages of the Underpass, won the Independent Audiobook Award for best fantasy in 2021.

Lately, Aaron has teamed up with Shadow Alley Press’s, James A. Hunter to write The Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons. It’s like Harry Potter, if Harry Potter was studying to become a murderous mushroom dungeon.

Aaron lives in Colorado with his wife and two daughters but frequently travels to writers conferences and comic cons across the U.S., selling books, meeting fans, and collecting pen names.

2021 Bio From The Past

Aaron Michael Ritchey is the author of The Never Prayer and Long Live the Suicide King, both finalists in various contests. His latest novel, Elizabeth’s Midnight, was called “a transformative tale for those who believe in magic and in a young girl’s heart” by Kirkus Reviews. In shorter fiction, his G.I. For 20 years, through 12 novels, Aaron Ritchey has stood at the mountain pass of Thermopylae and has surveyed the Persian army of rejection, failure and death and yet he continues to write.
